MBY review our Windy 28CC
Great fun on the water when MBY editor Hugo Andreae took the chance to take a tour of the new Windy SR28 CC. This particular boat is loaded with the Yamaha F300 outboard and with the Zipwake automatic trim tabs on this boat, it helps to keep the boat through the chop.
The hull design on this boat, is true Windy style, when turning tight corners, it grips hard and turns tight, not losing power at any point, it rides beautifully. It cuts through the waves well, with no slapping or bouncing around. You can see in this video that Hugo Andrae really does love this boat and it's handling, stating that it delivers at 100 %.
With a full walk around design and chunky hand grips and rails all the way around the boat, you always feel safe that you know you have something to hold on to. The boat has fairly high bullwarks, so again, this protects you from spray and also helps you feel safe especially with children onboard.
There is a really useable deck space forward, where the table doubles up as a base for a sun bathing cushion infill for those lazy alfresco dining days.
Our boat was an all white boat, but there is a chance of ordering it in the choice of 5 different colours.
The boat comes with a full set of Helly Hanson covers which cover the seats, tables and the whole of the helm.
With a small cabin nestled in behind a sliding door which also has a separate heads with sink, black water tank and cabinets overhead. The cabin is equipped with overhead LED strip lights and a port light.
The Windy 28CC can come with twin F200 or a single F300 which this one has.
